Lunchtime at One Colorado

Lunchtime at One Colorado

Lunch time at One Colorado is one of our favorite times of day! There are plenty of dining options with more opening along Union this winter/early spring!

Located in our new food district on Union Street x Fair Oaks, Dirt Dog brings all the goods to Pasadena. They have every hot dog you’ve always dreamed of and more. Serving up their version of a “street dog,” you can substitute any one of their delicious hot dogs with a veggie one.  You must try the Green Gog with chimichurri sauce. And make sure to head there extra hungry so you can dig in into their Elote Fries loaded with corn, cotija cheese and bacon. Yes, you read that right. And don’t sleep on the fried Oreos with horchata whipped cream. Insert fire emojis here!

For a vegan delight, we love Sage Bistro’s Raw Bowl. It’s a completely raw dish with piles of fresh kale, pickled cabbage, avocado, carrot and more topped with sliced apples and the cashew “Alfredo sauce.” For our pizza lovers, try their Heirloom Tomato & Garlic pizza. Add some avocados to give it some So Cal flair. We also like their Mexican Pizza topped with habanero “cream cheese.” .

Sushi Roku’s cold appetizers are perfect to partner with your favorite sushi. Must tries: Spice Cucumber Sunomono, Seaweed Salad, Seared Albacore and the Toro Carpaccio. Sushi Roku also has delish lunch specials for an amazing price. We always go for their customizable Bento Box or Sushi Six Assortment.

Il Fornaio introduces new menu items each month, so we suggest asking your server for their current specials. We (over) indulge in their fresh house-made bread that you dip in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. One of our favorite dishes is the Insalata Regina with arugula, capers, raisins topped with either ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken or carpaccio. And of course we can’t let pasta go unrecognized! You can’t go wrong with the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese – a ribbon pasta with ragu & Grana Padano. Delizioso!

And there is always room for dessert! Head to Salt & Straw for a scoop of the most decadent ice cream seasonal flavors on a fresh waffle cone (that you can smell all the way from the courtyard). Or there’s always Pasadena’s favorite 21 Choices where you can mix in sweets or fruits for a custom frozen yogurt treat. And if you want a little after lunch pick-up, Cha Redefine on Union has some really lovely tea drinks with exotic flavor combinations!

And the best part about having lunch at One Colorado is enjoying the sunny outdoors! Our restaurants have plenty of patio seating or you can take your food to-go and dine al fresco in our lovely tree-lined courtyard or quaint Smith Alley. Or make some friends in the communal dining area by the food district in Kendall Alley right next to Goldbug!
