Summer Fun with the Kids!
After being at home for some time, the kids (and you) could get a little bored. But don’t panic, because we rounded up some of the best things to do this summer with your kids in and around Pasadena!
Anything fun, sweet and creative must be on the top of our list! If your little once loves baking, icing and sprinkles then Duff’s Cakemix Summer Cake Camp will be heaven on earth for them. They’ll learn how to bake and decorate like a pastry pro in a unique week-long summer program. After learning some tips and tricks, they will bake and take home their two-tier cake masterpiece to devour with family at home. Plus, they will also get to customize their own apron for all the piping fun. Click here to register ($450 per week).
Apollo 11 is landing at the Rose Bowl July 5th – 28th. Don’t miss out on this immersive show that will make you & your kids dare to travel to space! Apollo 11 is a brand-new show giving the story of the original Apollo crew performed by a cast inside a 40k square food lunar dome filled with 360-degree video projections that will make you feel like you were on the mission yourself. Talk about spacing out! Grab your tickets here.
For a quiet afternoon underneath the Pasadena sun, we suggest heading over to The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. They have live concerts up to two times a month, plus free days where you can bask the beauty for no pennies- next free day is August 1 (reservations required).
We love heading to the Southern California Children’s Museum because they have events nearly every day! Whether you’re looking for story time, crafting or singing, SCCM has you covered. Discover the events they have going on here.
What better way to spend summer nights than at One Colorado itself? Every Friday and Saturday in July we are hosting the Pasadena Summer Cinema with films that your kids will love! Don’t miss out on films like COCO, Nacho Libre and Enchanted all playing on the old Clune’s theater wall in the courtyard. Films start at 8:30p, make sure to head in early to grab a drink at the bar or grab some sweets from the Sugarfina pop-up candy store! Headsets will be available to rent (for free). More information here.
Get out of the city to immerse yourself in World of Fruit! This museum features 8 fruit-forward rooms where you can swing on a watermelon or jump into a dragon fruit bowl. This will be an unforgettable summer experience that your kids will talk about on the playground the following school year. Find tickets here.
Before your girls head back to school, send them back with some confidence and resilience! Creative Connections summer workshop combines art projects, discussions, activities and interactive skill-building to empower your girls! Learn more here.
