October – Arts for All Ages
We catered to the younger set this fall, with kids’ events every Thursday in October. We had Mommy & Me Morning singalongs with the adorable Peanut and her ukulele plus giggles a plenty with Luce Puppets. Young ones got crafty in the afternoon with our super creative pals at Purple Twig, making God’s Eyes, decorating bug boxes among other charmingly crafty projects.
This year marked the 15th anniversary of our annual Art & Design Open Market! This beloved event features artwork for sale from students and alumni of Art Center and Pasadena City College, with all proceeds go directly to the artists. We also added in a few new friends and features, including a pop-up with Brown Bag Books, art making stations with Purple Twig and Remainders Pasadena and a coloring station with “Color Pasadena” and its delightful author Ali Zigerelli. This delightful day was accompanied by live music from local sing-songwriters Chelsea Williams and Eric Kufs.
And speaking on beloved events, our annual pumpkin decorating extravaganza was indeed just that, an extravaganza. Kids and big kids were raring to get busy with pumpkins, glue guns, sequins, markers and beads. Feathers were flying as was the creativity. This may have been our most populated pumpkin event to date!
