Summer / Fall events at One Colorado
Whatta summer (and fall)! So much going on over here at One Colorado! Here’s a recap with some pretty pictures to go with.
In July we welcomed a steady stream of folks for the month-long Old Pasadena Film Festival. In addition to a rather eclectic array of movies, from West Side Story to Galaxy Quest to Pitch Perfect, we turned the courtyard into a time machine for our “80’s Flashback Date Night”, featuring Gen X tunes, Pac Man and Centipede video games to accompany a screening of Sixteen Candles (insert collective “I love that movie!”).
August totally rocked with our Saturday Nights courtyard concert series, offering an array of rhythms and melodies from Brazilian to Blues, soulful R&B, Americana with an Appalachian twang, and pop psychedelia with a folk flavor. The lovely Mia Doi Todd returned to the One Colorado stage, joined by some other cool cats including Rose’s Pawn Shop.
Saturday Nights in September brought to the stage more fantastic musical talent, including the spunky panache’d soul of Rachel Rodriguez and the disarming charm of ukulele-aficionado Drew Tabor. Friday nights were a family affair with screenings of old favorites like Disney’s Jungle Book and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory among others.
Boo-tiful things happened here in October as well. Our Saturday Nights music series continued with some seriously great acts such as the Show Ponies and The Wild Reeds. We also treated guests to some Halloween fun with our annual pumpkin decorating. Our All Hallows’ Eve store-to-store, trick-or-treating brought in record numbers in pursuit of candy, was well as a parade of great kids’ and adult get-ups captured by our (free) family photos resident photographer extraordinaire.
